The groundbreaking site features the Asheville brand’s legendary Wall Tents
June 26, 2019, Asheville, NC – Diamond Brand Gear, an American manufacturer of outdoor gear, recently partnered with Pisgah Hospitality Partners, an Asheville-based recreation area and glamping site, to bring luxury to the wilderness. Located at Lake Powhatan Recreation Area, the Pisgah Glamping site is the first of its kind on U.S. Forest Service land. A legacy outdoor brand, Diamond Brand Gear made its own mark on the site with twelve custom canvas Wall Tents.
Diamond Brand Gear has been trailblazing the canvas wall tent industry for more than 130 years, making high-quality, durable and customizable canvas wall tents. These semi-permanent structures place a premium on space and comfort, making for the most pleasant night sleep a camper can have away from their own bed, the perfect option for glamping.
“Longtime staples at Scout and summer camps across the nation, Diamond Brand Gear Wall Tents are second to none,” said Diamond Brand Gear CEO John Delaloye. “We’re excited to expand our collection into the glamping marketing .and we are always innovating with new custom designs and options. It’s been a particular honor to work with Pisgah Glamping, the first site of its kind of U.S. Forest Service land.”
Designed exclusively for Lake Powhatan’s sites, the 12-by-16-foot structures are large enough for a queen bed, foldable cot, bedside table and luggage rack so glampers can experience the comforts of a hotel room in the wild. There’s even enough room leftover to fit a couple of sleeping bags or an air mattress for nature-loving families or large groups.
Pisgah Glamping allows overnight guests to enjoy the outdoors and scenery without sacrificing the comforts and luxuries of home. The platforms on which Diamond Brand Gear’s wall tents are erected have a spacious front porch large enough for chairs, and each site has a picnic table and a fire ring with grill top. Plus, each site provides guests with USB/AC charging capabilities to support small electronics.
“We’re thrilled to give Asheville-area visitors a unique glamping experience that’s the best of two worlds: it allows us to share an intimate experience of our beloved Pisgah National Forest, but it’s also incredibly convenient to the excitement of downtown,” said Lee Collette, Director of Operations for Pisgah Hospitality Partners. “We’ve been thrilled to partner with Diamond Brand on this project given their long history of manufacturing quality products and the fact that their business is right in our backyard.”
