There was snow in the forecast for this weekend. Thank goodness mother nature wizened up and realized this is just not the time for that. That said, the days are still a little chilly. While we’re waiting for the sun to make it’s full blazing appearance, jackets are a great way to add warmth and style to Spring fashion.

I especially like this jacket by Aventura because it’s lightweight and structured. It cinches in the waist to give you a little definition- a feminine twist on a utility jacket. A jacket is the perfect way to break out those summer dresses and is a slightly dressier option (especially this Verona jacket) than my go to oversized cardi. A good jacket is an investment that will stay in your closet year after year, so don’t be afraid to splurge, just make sure it’s a flattering classic style in a neutral color. With consumers becoming more eco-conscious when it comes to fashion, it’s really important to shop with sustainable brands (check out the Aventura tags to see that their pieces are made with organic materials and fair trade business practices). The more I shop small, local, and sustainable, the more I learn the difference between those pieces and those from fast fashion.
